Willow Spring 2 2026
Posted: Mar 20, 2026 by: Debbie Bagwell (dbagwell) on: Willow Class
After half term, we have continued with topic work on Greener Energy. We have focused on Hydro Power and had lots of fun exploring water wheels to explore how the water powers a turbine in order to create electricity,
We have been lucky enough to take some of our learning outside and had fun investigating numbers in the sunshine.
We had so much fun during Science Week and investigated how many times a slice of toast would land buttered side up or down, melted a chocolate lolly with a hairdryer and melted broken wax crayons with an iron to create a unique piece of art.
We have continued to read daily and share books daily which lead us beautifully into World Book Day. We all looked fab in our World Book Day costumes from Willy Wonka to a Ladybug to name but a few characters.
We have planted some potatoes in the hope of a bumper crop in the Summer term, hopefully we will have enough to be able to cook a delicious dish for us all to share.
On a more sporty note, we have been lucky enough to access ‘Tots on Tires’ and ‘Table top cricket’ as well as our usual PE sessions which have included Boccia and Curling.
Some of us have also been lucky enough to access a More Music session looking at using technology to create sounds.
We all hope you have a lovely Easter break and come back into school feeling refreshed ready for more fun in the Summer term.
