Rowan Spring term
Debbie Bagwell (speel) on: Rowan Class
Time has been flying in Rowan Class this Spring!
This term, we've journeyed through the exciting world of Transport – Getting Out and About, exploring various modes of transport like planes, cars, boats, trains, and helicopters. Weekly sensory stories sparked pupils' imaginations, encouraging creative writing and communication development.
Our transport theme seamlessly connected to Design & Technology, where pupils crafted impressive mechanical models featuring wheels, axles, and levers. Everyone contributed at their own pace, producing standout creations such as boats, trains, and planes!
In Science, the focus was on building enquiry skills. Pupils practiced making predictions and conducting experiments, deepening their understanding of scientific concepts in an engaging way.
Physical well-being remained a cornerstone of our curriculum. Pupils participated in tailored activities like Conductive Education, Hydrotherapy, Sensory PE, Community PE, and swimming. Their progress in these personalized routines has been remarkable.
Additionally, we introduced Spanish this term using interactive Attention Time activities. Pupils learned essential vocabulary, such as colours, numbers, days of the week, and fruits, expanding their language skills.
Finally, in Mathematics, pupils strengthened their problem-solving abilities, explored numbers and time, and delved into multiplication by forming groups, sets, and pairs.
What an incredible term of creativity, curiosity, and learning!
Next Term our topic will be ‘Water, water everywhere - We are sailing!’ This will give the pupils great opportunities to look at different ocean habitats and the work of artist David Munroe.
Have a peaceful Easter.
